The words 'mate' and 'mitra' mean the same thing in English and Hindi - friend. We have these two words in our name because that's what we celebrate, a great friendship.

We have a simple goal. We tell stories about how all the many ways Australia and India are great friends. We talk about food and cricket, cool people, and fantastic projects. We talk about the cooperation between these two vibrant democracies in science and technology, innovation, defence and security, and education.

We celebrate the rich history between these two countries, and we are enthusiastic about new opportunities for collaboration that are emerging every day. In short, we are as keen as only true friends can be about the past, present, and future of Australia-India dosti!
