How the national anthems of India and Australia align their values

Dr. Parwinder Kaur, Government of Australia's Expert Panel Member for building pathways to diversity in STEM and an Assistant Professor at the University of Western Australia School of Agriculture and Environment, explains how the content of the national anthems of both India and Australia, reflect their shared values of integrity, cultural unity and harmony.

The countries bring these values towards their shared partnerships with each other as well.

In a LinkedIn post, Dr. Kaur says "Our core values align, our interests align and this is so well reflected in our National Anthems."

She goes on to quote a few lines from the national anthems of both India and Australia. The excerpts of the national anthem read as follows-

Australia -

We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil,

Our home is girt by sea;

Our land abounds in Nature’s gifts

Of beauty rich and rare;

India -

Understanding the connection between the culture and heritage of both the countries through the lens of their national anthems is indeed a unique approach and one that needs some more engagement to assess how the two countries are similar in building showcasing their values of peace, unity and diversity to the world as well.
